Faith healing is the belief that prayer and gestures such as laying on of hands can elicit divine intervention in spiritual and physical healing. This is a Christian belief that God heals people through the power of the Holy Spirit. While some people are reluctant to receive their healing by faith, thinking it's too hard to do, the Bible says very clearly in three separate verses, The just shall live by faith.
Faith is believing what God says in His Word, the Bible, and trusting what He says more than we trust our natural senses or what other people say. Faith is believing God enough to talk and act as if His Word is true even when circumstances would seem to indicate that it's not.
According to the Bible, healing is no problem for the Lord. The only hard part is getting people to believe what He has said about it so they can receive their healing.

What You'll Learn
Pray and have faith
Praying and having faith are essential aspects of receiving healing from God. Here are some ways to strengthen your faith and receive healing:
Meditate on God's Word:
Fill your heart and mind with God's Word regarding healing. Study Scripture verses on healing, such as Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:2-3, Mark 11:22-24, and many others. Read books or listen to sermons on the topic of healing to grow in your understanding of God's will for your healing.
Focus on Jesus as the Source of Healing:
Jesus is the ultimate Healer, and we must keep our eyes fixed on Him. Remember His power to heal and His willingness to do so. Meditate on Scripture passages like Acts 9:34, where Peter proclaims, "Jesus Christ heals you", and Mark 5:28-30, where a woman is healed by simply touching Jesus' clothes.
Recognize the Availability of Jesus' Healing Power:
Jesus' power to heal is real and available to you. Think about His power flowing from Him to you, just as it did to the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:28-30. By faith, see that power flowing to you, and your faith for healing will grow.
Believe in God's Will to Heal You:
Jesus Himself said, "I am willing" when it comes to healing (Matthew 8:3). Don't come to Him with uncertainty or doubt. Instead, be convinced that it is God's will to heal you and that He has already borne your diseases and infirmities (Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24).
Remember the Salvation Benefits:
Don't forget that salvation includes both the forgiveness of sins and the healing of sicknesses (Psalms 103:2-3). Jesus has provided a package of salvation that encompasses both spiritual and physical healing.
Know that Jesus Heals All Diseases:
Jesus healed every disease and sickness during His earthly ministry (Matthew 4:23-24). His will to heal includes your affliction, whether it's cancer, leukemia, or any other disease. He is willing and able to heal you completely.
Pray and Believe:
Jesus said, "Have faith in God ... For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him' (Mark 11:22-23). Pray with faith, believing that God will heal you, and don't doubt.

Believe in God's word
The Bible, the Word of God, builds faith for healing
Faith comes from hearing God's Word. Study what the Bible says about healing. Use a concordance to look up every verse that speaks of healing. Read scripture-filled books on healing, such as T.L. Osborne's "Healing the Sick". Ask your pastor to recommend audio tapes on the subject taught by those whom God has used in healing the sick. As you do this, you will find yourself steadily growing in faith to receive healing from the Lord.
Focus on Jesus the Healer
Jesus said to the blind men, "Do you believe that I am able...?". We grow in faith as we focus on Jesus the Healer. Acts 9:34 records the apostle Peter ministering healing to a lame man. He simply said to the paralytic, "Jesus Christ heals you." Peter was convinced, as we should be, that Jesus heals!
Consider Jesus' great power to heal
Think about Jesus' power flowing out to you. Jesus' power to heal is real power, so real that Jesus sensed the flow of that healing power from Him. Consider Jesus, ponder His great power, and by faith see it flowing from Him to you, and you will find yourself growing in faith to receive a very real touch of healing from the Lord.
Be absolutely convinced that it is God's will to heal you
"I am willing," Jesus said. Let His own words establish the fact that it is Christ's will to heal! Don't come apologetically to Jesus for healing. No! Come to Him knowing that His expressly stated intention concerning healing is: "I am willing!". Confess that promise from Jesus regularly — "I am willing!" — and watch your faith for healing grow!
Don't forget the salvation benefits of forgiveness of sins and healing of sickness
Faith for healing grows as we realize that Jesus has provided a package of salvation — both the forgiveness of our sins and the healing of our diseases. Too many Christians, sadly, have "forgotten all his benefits." One of those great salvation benefits is the forgiveness of our sins. Another — not to be forgotten or ignored — is the healing of our sicknesses. The Word of the Lord tells us, "Don't forget this!".
Remember that Jesus "took up our infirmities and carried our diseases"
Consider Matthew 8:16-17 "... [Jesus] healed all the sick. [17] This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: 'He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.' Notice the verb tenses that Peter and Matthew use: "you have been healed.... He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." Just as Jesus has already borne our sins, likewise, He has already taken and carried our sicknesses. That means you don't have to carry them any longer!
Any affliction you have can be healed — Jesus healed "every disease and sickness"
Jesus' will to heal includes YOUR sickness! He healed "every disease and sickness." And His intent to heal includes your pain, even "severe pain." If you have cancer, leukemia, or any other debilitating disease, it is included among the "every disease and sickness" that Jesus is pleased to heal.

He healed the sick, raised the dead, and cast out demons. If you believe in Him and have faith in His ability to heal, you can receive healing too.
- Study the Bible: Read the Gospels and see how Jesus looked to the faith of the sick for healing. For example, in Matthew 9:28-30, Jesus asked two blind men, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" When they replied, "Yes, Lord," He touched their eyes and restored their sight. Their healing was "according to [their] faith." The Bible is full of such examples and scriptures on healing, which can strengthen your faith.

- Believe in Jesus' Power: Think about Jesus' power flowing out to you. His power to heal is real. In Mark 5:28-30, a woman who had been bleeding for years thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." And immediately, her bleeding stopped, and she felt healed. Jesus even sensed the power going out from Him.
- Know that it is God's Will to Heal You: In the Bible, Jesus says, "I am willing," revealing His intention to heal. Don't come to Him apologetically; instead, confidently approach Him, knowing that He is willing to heal you.
- Remember the Benefits of Salvation: Jesus has provided a package of salvation that includes both the forgiveness of your sins and the healing of your diseases. Don't forget that He has already taken upon Himself your infirmities and carried your diseases.
- Believe that Jesus Heals All Diseases: Jesus healed "every disease and sickness" in His time on earth. This includes your affliction too. He healed people with cancer, blindness, deafness, and many other illnesses. Whatever your sickness may be, Jesus is willing and able to heal you.
- Pray and Act in Faith: Don't just wait for healing to come; pray boldly, believing that you have received your healing, and act accordingly. See yourself healed and thank God for it. By faith, start talking and acting like you are healed. Your body will eventually line up with God's Word, and your healing will manifest.
Remember, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He healed people in the past, and He is still willing and able to heal you today. Trust in Him as your healer, and you will receive your healing by faith.
