Faith In Jesus: A Guide To Spiritual Trust

Faith in Jesus is a cornerstone of Christianity. It involves having knowledge about Jesus, assenting to that knowledge, and trusting in Him. To have faith in Jesus, one must believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God, who came to earth to save humanity from sin, and that He rose from the dead. Jesus is God's son

Jesus is the Son of God, sent to Earth to take the place of sacrificial ceremonies, earning forgiveness for all people. Jesus is God's son in the sense that He is God made manifest in human form. Jesus is God's Son in that He was conceived in Mary by the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35 declares, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God".

Jesus is referred to as the Son of God on many occasions in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. On two occasions, Jesus is recognised as the Son of God by a voice which speaks from Heaven. Jesus explicitly and implicitly describes himself as the Son of God, and he is also described as such by various individuals in the New Testament.

Jesus is the only person to be born of a mortal mother, Mary, and an immortal father, God. From His Father, He inherited divine powers, and from His mother, He inherited mortality, becoming subject to hunger, thirst, fatigue, pain, and death.

The Bible says that Jesus was a man who was killed for his radical teachings about God. He was hung from a cross until he died. Then, 3 days later, the Bible says Jesus rose from the dead and left his tomb, and by conquering death, he created a bridge between sin and God.

Jesus died and rose again

Jesus' death and resurrection are central tenets of the Christian faith. The New Testament states that Jesus was crucified and died for the sins of his followers, and rose from the dead three days later.

Jesus is the only way to salvation

The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He is not a way, as in one of many; He is the way, as in the one and only. No one, regardless of reputation, achievement, special knowledge, or personal holiness, can come to God the Father except through Jesus.

Jesus is the only One to have come down from heaven and returned there. He is the only person to have lived a perfect human life. He is the only sacrifice for sin. He alone fulfilled the Law and the Prophets. He is the only man to have conquered death forever. He is the only Mediator between God and man. He is the only man whom God has “exalted . . . to the highest place”. Jesus is the gate of the sheep; the bread of life; and the resurrection. No one else can rightly claim those titles.

Jesus's earliest disciples tell us that he claimed to be the one and only path to God. Peter, speaking to the Sanhedrin, clearly proclaimed Jesus as the only way to heaven: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Paul, speaking to the synagogue in Antioch, singled out Jesus as the Savior: “I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him, everyone who believes is set free from every sin” (Acts 13:38–39).

The Christian gospel is the gospel of grace. People are saved by God’s grace, not by pronouncing the name “Jesus” or having special knowledge or special formulas. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, whether they know it or not. His death was an atoning sacrifice for everyone—past, present, future, Palestinian or Peruvian. We can trust that one way or another, Jesus urges every person who ever lived, or who ever will live, to trust in him for salvation. According to the Hebrew Bible and Jewish sages, the Messiah would be from the tribe of Judah, a descendant of King David, born in Bethlehem, arrive before the destruction of the Second Temple, present himself riding on a donkey, be tortured to death, and rise from the dead. Jesus fulfilled all of these credentials, which are recorded in the New Testament.

Secondly, Jesus himself claimed to be the Messiah. In John 4:25-26, when a woman said to him, "I know that Messiah is coming," he replied, "I who speak to you am he." This claim lays the groundwork for the rest of the evidence supporting Jesus' Messiahship.

Thirdly, Jesus' life and teachings stand in sharp contrast to those of false messiahs throughout Jewish history, such as Bar Kokhba and Shabbetai Zevi. Jesus worked miracles, brought healing and wholeness to people's lives, forgave sins, and restored relationships. He fulfilled the law of Moses as a devout Jew and, most importantly, rose from the dead, which is seen as powerful evidence of his Messiahship.

Additionally, Jesus' death and resurrection provide a bridge between sin and God. In the Old Testament, people were commanded by God to make sacrifices to attain forgiveness. Jesus, as God's son, came to Earth and became the ultimate sacrifice, dying for our sins and rising again to conquer death. Through faith in Jesus, we can receive forgiveness and eternal life.
