This promise can be applied to our lives today, as we can be assured that God will help us overcome our challenges one step at a time, giving us the strength and faith to persevere.

To activate our faith, we must first acknowledge and understand the good things that have been given to us through Christ's work and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We must recognise that we have been "blessed with every spiritual blessing" through Christ's sacrifice. This acknowledgement is crucial for our faith to become effective and active.

Once we have this understanding, we can release our faith through our words and actions. Jesus said, "Have faith in God... whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says" (Mark 11:22-23). Our faith-filled words must be accompanied by faith-filled actions. For instance, when Jesus healed a leper, He spoke and acted on His faith, and instead of becoming unclean Himself, He transferred cleansing to the leper (Matthew 8:3).

Salvation is God's righteousness at work

Salvation is an amazing miracle that unfolds in our lives. The view of salvation as a ticket to heaven or a card to escape hell ignores life on earth. The salvation that Jesus secured with His death and resurrection is one that restores a believer's oneness with God. This unity brings wholeness through the power of Christ's love. By His grace, He provided righteousness for us in the hope that we'd believe—or have faith.

Salvation by grace through faith is at the heart of the Christian religion. God's grace and faith are needed for salvation. Both grace and faith are gifts of God.
